PACKING GLAND ADJUSTMENT
CLAMPSEAL® Throttling valves have a precision packing system with a single piece splined gland. Packing should be adjusted periodically to prevent leakage. See Table 3 for gland torques. Adjustment is especially important after hydro test or startup.
Most CLAMPSEAL® valves are furnished
with an Integral Gland Wrench, Figure A. The I.G.W. provides for easy packing
maintenance which helps extend packing life. Cycle valve several times
while adjusting packing to improve packing seal.
