Recirculation Bypass Valve

In an operating plant there are critical low-load operating periods. To prevent overheating of the pump a minimum flow recirculation system is required.

The CONVAL Feedwater Pump Recirculation Bypass valve offerd a new, innovative solution to this critical application. The CONVAL Feedwater Pump Recirculation Bypass valve uses an air operated, on-off globe valve which receives the high pressure inlet stream. Discharge is through a series of multiple pressure reduction stages called "Whisperjets". Each Whisperjet section has four or six orifices around it's perimeters. The orifices discharge inwardly which allows flow streams to impinge on each other rather than on the valve or sections themselves. These whisperjets are designed to reduce the pressure in stages and to prevent critical pressure drop from occuring which serves to minimize erosion by limiting the velocity of the fluid through the valve. The CONVAL feedwater pump recirculation bypass valve is a proven solution allowing years of trouble free performance in feedwater pump recirculation systems.
